Directions to eth0:2010 summer

Directions to the terrain & address info | Campsite.

The easiest way to get to our event would be to punch in the coordinates (52.884644 NORTH, 5.07931 EAST) into your personal teleportation device and activate. More conventional means with turn-by-turn naviation would have you tell it that the location is "Noorderdijkweg 23, Wieringerwerf" (zipcode 1771 MJ, should you need it).

Should you not have the luxury of any of the above, are generally distrustful of technology that talks to you, or just prefer a pen'n'paper backup, read on

By Bike

It's roughly 30km in all directions to the nearest train station, which, if you are athletic, is a nice bike ride. Don't forget to get a bike pass if you take the train. There are three possibilities:

From Amsterdam

For those of you more adventurous, we will be meeting up in Amsterdam the day before the event to all bike up to Wieringerwerf as a group. We will probably set up two meeting locations, one for people local to Amsterdam inside the city and another one just north for those of you coming from parts further away. If you're coming from further away, the local nerds here can help you find a place to stay for a day or two and enjoy the city. Just as loup for more details. Further details TBD.

From Wageningen

Since Wageningen is apparently the origin of the word 'fiets' in Dutch, it's only fitting that Hackers on a Bike start there. It's about 85 km to Amsterdam, so we will probably go as a group. The plan is to leave a couple of days before the event, spend a rest day in Amsterdam and get everything together for the last leg of the trip.

Carpooling / hitching a ride

Please mention where you need to come from, and what you will bring. Or if you can take someone, let them know where you come from, and how much space you have.

  • need a pickup:
  • can pickup:
    • I am travelling from Leipzig, Germany and will be able to give 2/3 (if you like it cozy ^^) additional people a ride. There's also enough room for copious amounts of luggage and a few servers/electron microscopes/USVs/oscilloscopes/industrial coffe makers. Just drop me a line per XMPP at mittagessen@l.unchti.me. I'll even make a detour for you.

By Tardis

Set your left doohicky to right, turn the dial on the far left up, and skrew the button at your companion's feet to the upright position. Choose, 10-08-2010, and kindly ask the TARDIS to fold spacetime onto Wieringwerf, the boshuis.
